Playback Troubleshooting

OVERVIEW

At SHOW, we have thought about all the possible scenarios that might crop up in case of any media problems. However, we do expect some problems that might arise in playing videos for some users. The reasons being different devices with different operating systems and new updates coming into play that might cause an issue.

We have found solutions for most of the problems that might arise usually from your internet connection, your browser, or your device.

We have listed the different tips that can help start playing the videos.

TIP #1: CLEAR YOUR BROWSER CACHE

Your internet browser cache is usually the culprit in most video playback issues. All you need to do is clear up the cache, or the temporary internet files, from the following places in the internet browser that you are using. We have listed the most common internet browsers here.

BROWSER NAME OPERATING SYSTEM SOLUTION
INTERNET EXPLORER Windows Users Click the *Safety* button in the '*Settings*' section and then click the **Delete Browsing History** button.
GOOGLE CHROME All Operating Systems Go to '*Preferences*' and select *Privacy and Security* tab.\ In the *Clear Browsing History* section, click the **Clear Data** button.
MOZILLA FIREFOX All Operating Systems Click '*Firefox*', go to *Preference*, select the *Privacy & Security* menu. In the *Cookies and Site Data* section, click the **Clear Data** button.
SAFARI Apple Users Go to '*Preferences*' in the Safari drop-down menu and go to the *Advanced* tab. Here select the *Show develop menu in menu bar* checkbox. Then go to the '*Develop Menu*' and click **Empty Cache**

TIP #2: CHANGE YOUR BROWSER

If the above tip doesn't work, you can try playing the video in another browser. In some cases, playing the video in Mozilla Firefox might not work but when you switch it to Google Chrome, the video might play. There could be a small issue that is intrinsic to your browser in your device.

TIP #3: CHECK YOUR SPEED

Your internet speed, if slow, can prevent your video from playing. We usually recommend at least an internet speed of 1Mbps (1Megabytes per second) for smooth and stable video playback. You can check your internet connection speed here.
